Strongest Lynx

Mattanawcook is off to a great start.

Strongest Lynx

Yesterday, I was a little bit skeptical of the Mattanawcook girls. Yeah, they demolished Calais. But still I wasn't sure. Turns out I was looking at data from 2022 and not 2023 (hey, there's a lot of teams to keep track of and it's early in the year). Anyway, apologies are in order because they went into Corinth and smoked Central, 62-44.

I'll get up to speed.

Elsewhere, in a light schedule around the state (with even fewer reported scores):

Maren Maxon fueled a late Wells rally as they snuck by Biddeford to move to 2-0...The Katahdin boys went to Dyer Brook and handed Southern Aroostook a rare home loss, 53-50...Foxcroft Academy held Chance Mercier to 12 points, but still got blown out. Ellsworth is your new #1 in the Power Rankings.

Like I said, it was a really light schedule.

Is there a way I can block all discussions of the Chiefs offsides penalty? Get over it.

If you haven't seen, that $700M Ohtani deal? $680M of it is deferred.

I, for one, am thrilled that Bobby Bonilla Day will continue with a new cast.

If you're wondering, it's entirely legal in the current CBA. It's amazing how few talking heads know this.

A wild, wild stat from last night.

This has nothing to do with basketball, but 'tis the season.

I'm going to call an audible here, as we just saw SoPo in the Game of the Day and I suspect they might be in the middle of a, uh, market correction.

When we last saw the Falmouth boys, they were on the wrong side of a heartbreaking loss in the Gold Ball game. But Falmouth being Falmouth, they're right back in the mix of it again this year. They beat GNG by 21 on Opening Night.

Falmouth swept the season series last year and rather handily, including a semifinal drumming at the Expo.

Meanwhile, Westbrook is coming off a win over Greely. Can they break through against the Navigators?

The rest of today's schedule is after the jump.
