Two Games in the County

I knew someone would find a way to get a game in. It's almost never a complete washout of the schedule.

Fort Fairfield and Wisdom met up for a boys/girls doubleheader. Neither game was close.

In the girls game, Wisdom coasted to improve their record to 15-1 on the year. Ava Lerman had 32 points, 7 steals, and 6 boards. In the boys game, Fort Fairfield drained 15 threes as they cruised to their 11th win of the year.

I'm sure I'm missing a lot more.

Speaking of UMaine...

Jon Gruden got a box of swag from UMaine and took some time to shout out some Black Bears. Because everyone loves getting swag. I should have done this the other day when Mt. Ararat sent me a shirt.

Colby is accepting signups for their summer basketball camps.

No surprise here.

"Wedgie Board" is a new one for me. I'm not too proud to admit that I still have areas for growth and learning.

The Certified Wedgie Board™ can confirm that this is indeed a wedgie aka a block wedgie aka a bledgie. Props to Robert Williams III for Wedgie No. 39 on the season.

By my count, there are 92 games on the schedule tonight.

A North girls has been a gauntlet so far this year (and is shaping up to be a very competitive tournament). Four teams have separated from the pack--5 if you want to count Bangor, who's a step below but still is 10-4.

Camden is currently in first and Mt. Ararat is in 4th, but the Tourney Odds think this is a complete toss-up, like a 3-way who the hell knows with Hampden hoping to play spoiler.

Edward Little, Camden, and Mt. Ararat all pretty much have the same odds across the board for the top 4, except that Mt. Ararat is slightly more likely to finish 4th. But, geez, this could finish in a lot of different combinations.

As for the teams, Mt. Ararat's been awesome this year in their title defense. They've got a top 10 offense (second in Class A), a top 5 defense (first in A), and they're 5th in point differential. They're 5th in the state in %Perfect. In short, they've been dominant. When I saw them, they blew the doors off York.

As for Camden, they've got a top 20 offense, the 5th best scoring defense in A, and the third best scoring differential in A North. So why are they favored here? Well they're at home, for one. That helps. And they've played a tougher schedule. Camden has played 5 teams that have a Preliminary Index of 20 or higher vs 3 for Mt. Ararat. But, the Eagles have three in a row, starting tonight, which is how they can get to 1...or fall to 4.

Charlie Crockett and MaineCoastTV will stream this one. I would absolutely go, but I'll be at Medomak Valley's Paws for the Cause doubleheader with Lincoln Academy.

The Model's picks for the rest of today's games are after the jump.
