Warriors

In a quiet night, the Game of the Day delivered.

The Fort Kent girls opened up a 17-point lead in the first half against Caribou, but the Vikings rallied, going on a 25-10 third quarter run to get the lead down to 2. But then, with 5 minutes left, Caribou's Madelyn Deprey fouled out (she had 16), Lily Werntgen hit her 5th 3 and Fort Kent was able to hold off Caribou down the stretch.

Lily Oliver led Fort Kent with 31 points, 9 steals, and 4 blocked shots.

The win moves Fort Kent ahead of Mattanawcook for the 2 slot in C North and improves their prospects slightly, but not as much as you'd think. C North is really crowded! Their 2 seed odds go from 19% to a little over 30% and they're now 41% to get the 3 seed, so they're probably in the 2/3 side of the bracket.

Hall-Dale's Hayden Madore banked in a half-court shot at the end of the half and then, in the second half, she went and scored her 1,000th point. Fortunately, the fantastic Munzing Media was there.

And here's Saige Evans of Old Town scoring her 1,000th point.

Also, I believe that's a 15 yard penalty.

Jaydn Pingree had a big night for Spruce Mountain, going off for 37 points, 12 rebounds, and 5 steals as the Phoenix continue to rise in the Heal Points. She's averaging 22 a game.

Spruce is all the way up to 4th in the Heal Points now, but the Tourney Odds doubt they'll stay there.

Elsewhere...

Arianna Bradeen scored 21 as Mount View outlasted Erskine...Josh Martin had 21 in Katahdin's win over Central Aroostook...Abby Haines' free throw gave Central Aroostook the lead for good. She finished with 21. Hunter Hartsgrove had 22 for Katahdin...Easton's Owen Sweeney dropped 27 on Ashland.

Some bad news from up North.

Oliver had missed the last couple of games for Hodgdon (they've lost 3 of their last 4) and I'd heard this was a possibility, but obviously they'd hoped she could come back for the tournament. They're currently in 4th, clinging to the final bye, and are not favored to stay there.

How to get ejected:

We're heading to A North for a seeding battle between Hampden and Messalonskee.

The twist here is that Hampden might be without the services of Zach McLaughlin, who left the Cony game with an injury. If he is indeed out, that changes things quite a bit for the Broncos.

Hampden still has a shot at the 1 seed. And Messo can put themselves in good position to move up to 2 with a win tonight.

Hampden won the first matchup by 10 in the Stable. Can Messo even the series?

The Model's picks for the rest of today's games are after the jump.
