Brothers

It was an unusually quiet night in the (Maine Principal's) Association, which means tonight will be bonkers.

The Game of the Day was a bust, as Class D Bangor Christian made short work of Class C Dexter, 58-29. That's quite a shift from their 2 point loss on the 20th. With the win, the Patriots add some more distance between themselves and Katahdin.

Elsewhere...

Nate Oney's free throw gave him 21 points and NYA the win in overtime...Monmouth's Sammy Calder dropped 38 on OOB...Jacoby Bardsley had 20 as Lake Region beat Mountain Valley...Piscataquis' Ava Goulette notched her fifth double-double of the year with 15 & 12...Aleyah Matheson had 22 as Hodgdon won without Anna Oliver... The Winthrop girls raced out to a 32-3 lead as they beat Mount Abram...Finn Harkins had 22 as Boothbay beat Madison.

Yes, I've seen the Dana White thing.

Yes, I know they're running with the Instagram rumor. (It's quite a mess they've created in the pursuit of clicks over journalism, isn't it?)

No, it isn't good.

You can stop sending it to me.

AA Round-Up

Thomas Curtis has the largest AA Round-Up yet.

And Cole Purvis joined him for a new episode of the podcast.

Here's a nice story from the County.

Long-time ref Dan Girardin has a brother who is also a ref and lives in Kansas. He is currently in Maine and they're doing games together, thanks to some coordination that Rene Cloukey goes into in his story.

Brothers officiate basketball games for the first time together.

I guess that's one way to alleviate the shortage of officials.

Maybe I've seen too many Frasier episodes, but I also wonder what happens when they disagree on a block/charge call.

It's a big one down south, as Cheverus hosts Windham for control of AA North.

This is pretty clean.

The winner of this will very likely be the 1 seed, which comes with a bye to the semifinals, as there's only 7 teams in the region.

Windham won the first matchup back on January 2nd in an overtime thriller.

Can Cheverus even the score in what very well could be a Regional Final preview?

The Model thinks so.
